Our name comes from our first Paco-Vicuna named Amber and our love for the Golden Fleece of the Vicuna. So naturally, we decided to name the farm appropriately, the Golden Amber Farm.
Located in the Pacific Northwest wine country, we are home to some of the finest Paco-Vicunas in the United States. Paco-Vicunas are a blend between Alpaca and Vicuna. The Paco-Vicuna has more traits and looks more like the Vicuna and the fiber is almost the same as pure Vicuna. They are majestic in appearance and produce some of the most superior fiber in the world.
We are honored to be the care-takers of these very rare and special animals. We enjoy their unique personalities, calm disposition, gentle humming, and beautiful countenance, it creates so much joy. It’s so easy to fall in love with them. You look into their big, beautiful eyes and one touch of their incredibly soft fiber, it is love at first touch!
We are currently in the process of "processing" our fiber and will have roving and yarn available for sale soon. Our fleece micron count ranges from 14 - 19 microns and the length is 2"-3". Be sure to check out our fiber gallery to see the raw fleece blankets we have available for sale now (on a limited time period).
At Golden Amber Farm, we believe in honesty, integrity, and transparency. We are also dedicated to reducing our environmental impact and contributing to a more sustainable future.
